Get Active with Longmont Museum’s Virtual Offerings

Wed March 10, 2021

The Longmont Museum is a favorite stop by many in our community, where everyone can enjoy culture, art, explore history and even discover new ideas. Like many businesses and museums around the country, they have shifted some of the focus to online activities and events. Check out what’s coming up and plan your next date night or family night!

Thursday Nights @ the (Virtual) Museum

Every Thursday Night at 7:30 p.m. through April 30, join in for live panel discussions, conversations and readings all live-streamed. There are three ways to watch and join in on the fun, either through the Museum’s Facebook Page, online at LongmontPublicMedia.org, or on Comcast cable channels 8 or 880. Upcoming events include a poetry reading with Abigail Chabitnoy on April 8, and “Earth: Grounds for Innovation”, a big picture discussion on climate change with local scientists and other experts. The best part? These programs are all available for FREE!

Virtual Art & Sip Classes in Longmont, CO

Ready to let your creative side show? At 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays through April 28, gather your own supplies and join in with other creative minds for great company and crafting! Join the fun on April 7 to paint a snowy tree landscape or on April 21 create your own tribute to Van Gogh with this “Starry Night” masterpiece. There is no cost to join the classes, only the cost of gathering your own supplies, some of which you probably have on hand already. Simply head over to the Museum’s Facebook Page, online at LongmontPublicMedia.org, or on Comcast cable channels 8 or 880 to get in on the action.

Virtual Discovery Days in Longmont

This event is for the little ones ages 2-6 and their caregivers. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings at 10–10:30 a.m. or 11–11:30 a.m. through April 28,  join Ms. Leigh in an online format to make a craft together. Your little ones will have so much fun they won’t even realize they are learning and developing their motor skills! There is a slight fee for participation, but a one-time fee covers all the crafts for the month. Play along on April 14, 15 or 16 to learn all about bugs or celebrate Earth Day together April 21, 22 or 23.

With so much being offered at the Longmont Museum, there’s room for everyone in the family to learn something new. But the learning doesn’t have to stop there.
