Longmont is home to many amenities that make it a desirable place for families and professionals to call home. With great restaurants, schools and shops, it’s no wonder why almost 95,000 people call it home. One unique feature to Longmont is its many parks, walking trails and open spaces ready for exploration. Check out these local spots the next time you’re in need of some Vitamin D and fresh air.

119th Street Trailhead - St. Vrain Greenway Colorado

Located on the banks of the St. Vrain Creek, this local gem includes something for everyone in the family. Bring a lunch and enjoy a picnic at one of the covered picnic tables, bring your fishing pole for some light fishing in the creek or get some exercise walking the approximate 8 mile St. Vrain Greenway Trail. As the weather gets warmer, come back to this local favorite spot for paddleboarding, kayaking or tubing!

Longmont’s Button Rock Preserve

Button Rock Preserve is just a short drive outside of Longmont. Located in a quiet river valley, you’ll also find the Longmont and Ralph Price Reservoirs which provide storage for our water supply. Button Rock Preserve is walk-in only, which helps preserve some of the natural beauty. Enjoy walking along the trails and catching a glimpse of wildlife. Anglers will also enjoy the access to many back-country fishing spots where fly fishing for brown trout is a popular activity.

Garden Acres Community Park in Longmont, CO

Garden Acres Community Park opened in 1989 and at that time was only the third community park in Longmont. It’s the place to take the sports lovers in your family for a friendly game of softball or soccer. With batting cages, ball fields, cricket pitches and more, it’s the perfect location to get in touch with your competitive side. Garden Acres also features multiple playgrounds and some are even handicap accessible making it the perfect place for everyone to enjoy.

Once you’ve had your fill of outdoor fun, you may find you’re not as young as you once were. If a pickup game of basketball or a run has turned sour, visit us at Crafted Physical Therapy. Our dedicated team is here to help get you back on track.
